We are an IICRC Certified Firm: What does that mean and why is it important?

"The IICRC is the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification, a non-profit organization for the Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Industries." This is the organization that provides education, training, certifications, and standards for the field of restoration and mitigation work. The IICRC works to globally ensure that firms and technicians are educated on the highest standards for restoration work. Globally, there are currently 47,250 certified technicians and 6,351 certified firms. As the governing force for how restoration work should be completed to ensure proper and safe environments for commercial and residential properties, it is of the utmost importance to select a company who not only follows IICRC standards, but holds current and valid IICRC certification not only at the Firm level, but at the level of individual technicians as well.

At Roots Water Restoration, not only is our firm certified through the IICRC, our owner holds the highest level of certification possible - Master Certification as a Master Water Restorer and Master Fire and Smoke Restorer. He is one course away from his final Master Designation as a Master Textile Restorer. Each of our technicians holds IICRC certifications and is on our company mandated pathway of becoming master restorer certified themselves. It is our technicians that come into your homes and businesses and it is of the utmost importance for them to have the proper training and certifications to provide you with the highest level of service. That is why Roots Water Restoration is not only transparent with the certifications each of our technicians have on our Meet the Team page, but will always have a Master Restorer overseeing each of our jobs as a project manager

We know how important our jobs as restoration specialists is and we want to ensure we are providing the highest quality of service to you as both a certified firm and a team of certified professionals. After all, you wouldn't just let anyone provide you with dental or medical services and we feel the same passion about your home. It is important that you have a company and its employees who serve you hold the proper certifications. At Roots Water Restoration, we not only ensure that we hold those certifications, but that we find excitement in recruiting new employees who we can support through the process of learning, growing, and earning their certifications as well.

There are currently no governmental regulations in the US for water restoration. However, there is an organization - the IICRC: the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification - that provides education, training, certifications, and standards for the field of restoration and mitigation work. We highly encourage you to always ask for proof of certifications before allowing any technician to enter and perform restoration services in your home. Our team of professionals are certified and knowledgeable about the standards of drying and restoration. Each of our technicians has a profile on our website listing their current certifications as well as when they will be taking courses to receive others. Our techs will also have this information attached to their ID badges for you to view prior to entering your home. You wouldn’t allow just anyone to build your home without knowledge, experience, and  the proper certifications; we feel the same way about ensuring that technicians restoring your home have similar requirements to ensure it is completed safely, effectively, and to IICRC standards.
